Police Retrieve Decomposing Body from Forest Reserve

Yafesi Kasiko, a herdsman says that he saw dogs around a deserted area within the forest reserve and went to check what was there only to the decomposing body covered by dry grass.
Police in Kiira region has recovered a decomposing body of an unidentified man from Nsube forest reserve in Nsuube village in Buwenge sub-county in Jinja district.

The body was first sighted by herdsmen who were grazing animals in a forest reserve on Tuesday morning. Yafesi Kasiko, a herdsman says that he saw dogs around a deserted area within the forest reserve and went to check what was there only to the decomposing body covered by dry grass.

Amina Kanyago, a resident of the area says that the deceased is unknown to the local community, adding that he could have been killed from another area and his body dumped in the forest reserve. 

The families residing within this area including tenants are well known, raising suspicion that this lifeless body was dumped here as a cover-up," she said. The Kiira regional police spokesperson, James Mubi, says that they have already commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the man's death. 

He says that they have transferred the body to Buwenge health center IV mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
