The roads in question are under the district works department and have not been worked on for years. Gullies and big potholes have become a common sight on the roads that are mainly used to transport Bananas and other Agricultural produce to the market.
Isingiro District leaders are on the spot over the poor state of
roads in the area. The roads include Kaberebere- Nyamuyanja, Kabuyanja –
Nyakitunda. Kaberebere - Masha -Nyamisindo among others.

common sight on the roads that are mainly used to transport Bananas and other agricultural produce to the market.
Joseph Kamusiime a resident of Masha Sub County says that the area
mainly relies on proceeds from the sale of milk and bananas but it is becoming
very hard to transport produce to the market which has affected livelihood.
Kamusiime says that the situation is getting worse with the onset
of rains that has rendered the roads almost impassable.
Sarah Kobusingye a resident of Nyamuyanja says that the state of
the roads in the area is a clear indication that the authorities are not
bothered. Kobusingye claims that the leaders have always promised to work on the
roads in vain.
Kaberebere town council LC III chairperson Patrick Kajumba says
that the roads in the area are indeed in a sorry state and the district
leadership has not done enough. He says that residents continue to struggle to
transport their produce to the market and Lorries carrying Bananas and other
goods often get stuck.
Kajumba notes that the district has three graders, a wheel loader,
bulldozer and an excavator which he says
should be used to repair the roads.
Jeremiah Kamurali Isingiro LC5 Chairperson says that some of the
graders have been grounded which has affected road works. He however they are now
planning to concentrate on the areas where the roads are in a bad state and called for patience among the residents from the affected areas.
