Ben Ogwang Ochoo, the Political advisor to President Yoweri Museveni in charge Lango Sub Region is dead. Ogwang breathed his last at Mulago National Referral Hospital around 10pm last night. 

The 71-year-old Ogwang who has been the proprietor of Lira Medical Centre in Lira town was airlifted to Mulago National Referral Hospital on Sunday after spending some days at his medical facility.

Ogwang had just returned from India where he spent several weeks on cancer treatment following his travel two months ago. His son, Emmanuel Brown Ocen, a pharmacist at Lira Medical Centre has confirmed Ogwang's death, saying he has been battling diabetes, hypertension and cancer.

Lawrence Egole, a National Resistance Movement-NRM party stalwart in Lira describes the late Ogwang as a generous and highly knowledgeable who had a heart to promote young people.

Egole, who worked with Ogwang from the 2001 to 2016 general elections, says the deceased was a committed party cadre who toiled to boost NRM party support in the region. President Museveni appointed Ogwang to coordinate his Presidential Campaigns in Lango during the 2016 general elections.

The late Ogwang has been a resident of Camkwoki village in Otwal Sub County in Oyam district.
