The Public Service Commission has rejected the appointment of  Serafine Ocala and Okeng George Johnson to the Kwania District Service Commission.

In August 2021, Kwania LCV Chairman Geoffrey Alex Ogwal Adyebo nominated Ocala to represent PWDs on the commission and Okeng as a member.  The district council unanimously approved their nominations together with three other members that including Tom Lakana Odur Anang, the former Kwania County MP as Chairperson of the Commission.

Others were Odur Ogwang Sipririno from Atongtodi, and Semmy Rose Ojuka all appointed in the position of the members of the District Service Commission. The names were sent to the Public Service Commission for endorsement.

Christopher Oguta  the Kwania District Principal Human Resource Officer says Ocala's name was omitted due to irregularities in the documents but Okeng's name was rejected due to missing documents. He adds that the documents have been resent for more verification.

Oguta said the three endorsed members can make a quorum and can conduct the commission activities.

Both Ocala and Okeng say they are not aware of the Public Service Commission’s rejection of their appointments.

Canon Richard Ogwang Odyero, Kwania Resident District Commissioner warned the district service commission to desist from taking bribes from job applicants.
