More than 10 families in Nsagi and Kizalabuganda villages, Mukono district who were affected by the construction Mukono- Katosi road are still waiting for compensation.
Last year, Uganda National Roads Authority-UNRA re-valued the land after residents complained that the money that was initially paid to them in 2015 was inadequate.
Ssalongo Ntambi, a resident of Nsangi, says that since the re-evaluation exercise, they have not heard from UNRA. He is worried that they he will not be compensated since construction works are almost completed.

Edward Kisubika Mpungu, another resident is worried that his house will be demolished before he is compensated. He says that UNRA told them that they should expect payment immediately after the revaluation exercise.

Mark Ssali, the Head of Corporate Affairs UNRA, says that payment of residents whose land was re-valued will be effected once the chief government valuer releases the report.
He, however, says that some landlords lacked genuine documents such as land titles and will not be compensated.
