The Kyabazinga of Busoga, HRH Gabula Nadiope IV wants government to expedite the process of returning the kingdom's property. He says this will enable the kingdom to fully fund all earmarked programs geared towards bettering the lives of his subjects.

The unreturned properties include sub county headquarters, some district headquarters, public land in different chiefdoms, among other property.

The Kyabazinga says that a select committee headed by the kingdom's 1st deputy premier, Dr. Mohammed Lubega who doubles as the institution's head of administration, compiled a report on the said property specifications which was dully submitted to responsible government agencies for consideration, but they are yet to have any state reactions ever since.

During his meeting with Busoga cabinet, Kyabazinga says that they finalized all the paper work and it is now imperative on government to play their part.

Kyabazinga says that for the past 10 years, the kingdom has thrived through support from development partners and well wishers, however, it is high time government released their property, which will enable them attain self sustainability.

The king explained that as such, his reign kickstarted with some challenges, but they are slowly gaining momentum through lessons learnt over the years and now subjects expect more services from them, a dream easily attainable if their property was released.

Also citing this impeding political season where state actors are fond of directly interacting with the wider populations, the Kyabazinga identifies it as  a favourable time for all his subjects to demand for the return of the kingdom's property.

Kyabazinga has since directed his premier, Joseph Muvawala, to reorganize his cabinet, which will not only streamline proper implementation of their sanctioned activities, but also position them to effectively service the needs of the people within the different chiefdoms where they reside.

He further said that the kingdom is slowly addressing community needs and they have since set up the "Kyabazinga initiatives," an arm mandated with overseeing implementation of different projects geared towards the general economic empowerment of grassroots communities, calling upon members of the general public to embrace these services.

He says that their services range from skilling the youths in different hands-on income generating activities, and supporting formal education portals through scholarships.

On his part, Muvawala rallied all the people in Busoga to continue paying their allegiance to the Kyabazinga as such unwavering support will overly contribute to unity for purpose, which will steer the kingdom's ability to actively serve communities unhindered.

Muvawala notes that the kingdom has continued to earn a good name over investing in community centered initiatives, which is gradually propelling them to service community demands.
