Security Committee Closes School Over Ownership Dispute

It all started after Dick Muhwezi alias Mareju tried to throw out Kapesha his co-director claiming that he bought off all his shares.
Rukungiri district security committee has closed Kebisoni Modern Secondary school over misunderstandings between the directors. The district security committee chaired by Ida Bikorwenda, Rukungiri RDC resolved to close the school on Friday to save students from being caught up in the wrangles between the directors. It follows clashes between Johnson Kapesha and Dick Muhwezi over the ownership of the school. It all started after Dick Muhwezi alias Mareju tried to throw out Kapesha his co-director claiming that he bought off all his shares.

However, Kapesha denies the claims that two of their other directors sold off their shares to Muhwezi. Ida Bikorwenda, the Rukungiri RDC says they intervened to resolve the misunderstanding in vain. She says that as a result, they were left without any option but to close the school to protect innocent students.  The conflict between the school directors put the fate of 48 senior four candidates at risk of missing their Ordinary level examinations scheduled for November. However, Ernest Baraibusya, the Rukungiri District Education officers says they made arrangements to carter for the affected students.

He says that the students will write their examinations at the district hall. Baraibusya says that more than 250 students in non candidate classes have been advised to go to other schools as the district tries to resolve the dispute.  Moses Akatukunda, a student Modern Secondary school says the school has for long been in a state of confusion with both directors giving conflicting orders.
