At around
6:00 trucks carrying police were seen trickling out of Kasese.
The elections
zonal commander Rwenzori Region commissioner Kasirabo told URN that they have
deployed to mitigate any possible violence.
He says that they
will strictly enforce a night curfew as an additional control measure.
Meanwhile
voting and counting at various polling stations continued after 4:00 pm after rains
disrupted the exercise.
At Kisanga
church of Uganda in Nyakasanga ward voting was still going on passed 5:30 PM.
Baguma
Eliphaz a voter at the stations says most people came close to 4:00 pm. At
Kidodo A polling station in Railway they were yet to begin vote counting at
6:00pm. Katusabe Atkins the Bukonjo West FDC candidate says the biometric
operators were not well skilled in handling the equipment leading to delays.
