Security Officers Rally Residents On COVID19 Guidelines Implementation

Security officers in Jinja district have rallied residents to continue implementing the Health Ministry guidelines on the prevention of Corona virus. 

This came at the closure of a four day UPDF led food distribution exercise to more than 1500 households comprising expectant mothers, the elderly, and child headed families.      

Onesmus Mwesigwa, the Kiira Region Deputy Police Commander warned residents against unnecessary gatherings in trading centers, which violates the directives on social distancing and therefore undermine efforts to stop the spread of the virus. 

Mwesigwa explains that throughout the door to door food distribution drives, they took it upon themselves to sensitise individual residents on Covid19 control measures because some of them were still holding onto unfounded myths about the virus.
