Shyaka Wins NRM Primaries in Entebbe Municipality

Shyaka, contesting for the first time garnered 2,970 votes while the incumbent Rosemary Tumusiime Bikaako got 1,250 votes.

Stephen Shyaka Gashaija has emerged winner in the NRM party primaries for the Entebbe Municipality Parliamentary seat.

Shyaka, contesting for the first time garnered 2,970 votes while the incumbent Rosemary Tumusiime Bikaako got 1,250 votes.

The other contestants were Madinah Zalwango who polled 583 votes, Patience Mubangizi 242 votes, Florence Tukei with 198 votes and Peace Ibingiro Salamuka with 195 votes.

Shyaka who is a lawyer by profession may contest with eight aspirants who have shown interest in next year’s general elections. They include three from the National Unity Platform- Kakembo Mbwatemwa, Robert Masaazi and Stuart Lubwama.

Others are National Alliance for Transformation’s Alex Gitta, Juma Mukasa for Democratic Party and Abubaker Walusimbi from Forum for Democratic Change.    

The independent candidates include Livingstone Jaramogi (Pastor),  and Joyce Nabattta.
