Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional police spokesperson indentified the deceased as Generous Komugisha, a resident Bwanda parish, Buhunga sub-county in Rukungiri district. She was apparently strangled.
Maate also indentified the arrested as David Bamporwari , Annette Tushabe , Jane Twijukye, peace Turyahabwe , Alex Muhumua and Ponsiano Kaharuza all residents of Bwanda parish, Buhunga sub- county Rukungiri district.

Police in Rukungiri District have arrested six
people in connection with the murder of a 40-year-old woman.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional police spokes person
indentified the deceased as Generous Komugisha, a resident Bwanda parish, Buhunga sub- county in
Rukungiri district.
Maate also indentified
the arrested as David Bamporwari, Annette Tushabe, Jane Twijukye, Peace Turyahabwe, Alex Muhumua and Ponsiano Kaharuza all residents of Bwanda
parish, Buhunga sub- county Rukungiri district.
Maate added that the 6 were arrested to help the police in
investigating the circumstances under which was killed that the Police swung into
action after an unnamed informer confided
in the Police at Buhunga police post in Buhunga that a person had been
killed in Rwega village and her relatives were arranging to bury her without
reporting.
Maate said that a Police team
led by the officer in charge of Buhunga Police post Stephen Twinomugisha rushed
to the scene and retrieved the body.
Twinomugisha told our reporter said that the deceased’s
body had bruises all over which suggested that she was
strangled to death.
After retrieval, the body was taken to Rwakabengo
Health Center III Mortuary for postmortem.
A murder case was registered at Rukungiri central Police station under reference number CRB 2011/2020.
