Police in Kagadi
is hunting for an 18-year-old man for allegedly hacking and inflicting a deep cut
on his biological father’s leg.
The suspect
is Kohen Andrew son to Andrew Musinguzi of Kabuga village Muhorro sub-county in
Kagadi district. The incident happened over the weekend on Saturday.
Andrew, a former
S.4 student at Kagadi secondary school accused his father of pressurizing him
to prepare to go back to school to join A-Level.
Andrew who is
currently on the run obtained 41 aggregate in O-Level at Kagadi Secondary
School in 2019 before he fled to Kampala after refusing to join A’ level but
recently he returned home.
His father
then told him to prepare to go back to school a decision he strongly opposed
but instead reportedly asked his father to give him his share of the family land and
threatened to end his father’s life should he fail to give him the share of the
land.
However, when
his father insisted on the decision of taking him back to school he became
annoyed and picked a panga and hacked him severely on the leg. He immediately
took off to a still unknown destination.
Musinguzi who
is currently admitted at Kyakasenene Health Centre II in Kagadi Town council told Uganda Radio Network on Tuesday that he was surprised when he was attacked by his son who hacked him on
the leg using a Panga.
He says at
the time he was attacked and being hacked, he had bought all that is required to take
his son back to school.
Simon
Peter Aimai, the officer in charge of operations at Kagadi central police station, says
investigations into the matter has commenced adding that the hunt for the
suspect is ongoing.
