The officer has been identified as Frank Tibaingana attached to Kitemba police post in Kicucura sub-county. He is accused of defiling a 14-year-old girl from the same village.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson has confirmed the arrest and detention of the police officer to URN.
The police in Kagadi have arrested one of their own for
alleged aggravated defilement.

village.
According to information obtained from the Police, the suspect had long been defiling the minor until the victim’s aunt
learnt about the incident on August 30th. She reported the matter to Kagadi police after
she caught the officer red-handedly defiling the minor.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson
says, Kagadi police immediately swung into action and arrested Tibaingana who
was swiftly whisked to the Kagadi central police station where he is
currently detained.
He says, once investigations are through, the police
officer will be arraigned before the court to be charged with aggravated defilement.

According to Hakiza, the defilement victim was subjected to a medical examination and the results indicated that she was severely defiled.
