District Commissioner, James Shilaku has suspended three State House field
officers attached to Kityerera state lodge over missing pigs.
They are Sarah
Kawuma, Waitah Atim and Moses Basoga.
Shilaku suspended the trio following a directive from State House
circumstances surrounding the disappearance of piglets that were meant to be
distributed in Kityerera town council.
The trio is suspected to have sold off 949 piglets that were meant to be distributed
to residents of Kityerera town council in fulfillment of the 2015 president’s
pledge to boost the livelihoods of people around Kityerera State Lodge.
Namaganda, the Kityerera Town Council LC V female councilor who also doubles as
the project coordinator, says some politicians fighting the program.
all the three field officers are my children, there are some politicians who are
feeding security with wrong information to fight me,” she said.
Shilaku says the District Security Committee has instituted a
subcommittee led by the sub county chief to investigate the matter in
collaboration with Police.
dismisses claims of political interference to mud-sling the program, saying security
is only doing its work to ensure that all beneficiaries are catered for.

Lydia Balemezi, the Overall supervisor of the program on
behalf of state house, says the field officers sent parallel lists indicating
different names of beneficiaries, which undermines the integrity of the program.
