Mbale Police have launched a manhunt for a woman accused of strangling her four-year-old step son and dumping his body in Namatala River in industrial division in Mbale municipality.
The suspect is Diana Nalondo, a resident at Namatala ward in Industrial Division. Nalondo is wanted in connection to the death of four-year-old Anthony over the weekend.
The boy's father is Henry Makafu, a charcoal dealer in Mbale town. Suwed Manshur, the Elgon Region Police Spokesperson, says they are hunting for the suspect to answer for murder.

He says they are holding Sarah Kitui, a friend to the suspect to help with police investigations. "I am just from my village in Manafwa but I am surprised that I have been arrested that I together with my friend murdered a four year old child,'' she told URN at Mbale Central Police Station as she was waiting to record her statement.

A postmortem conducted at Mbale Municipal Mortuary this morning shows that the infant was first strangled before being dumped into the river.
