The police in Kagadi have recovered a gun that was stolen from a private security guard in Hoima city.   The gun model 303 registration number UGPOL 1118076134 was recovered on Friday at around 8:15 p.m.

It was last month stolen from Nile Agro Depot situated in Kiryatete, Hoima City after unknown thugs raided the Depot and attacked Phelix Ebong, a security guard attached to Express Security Company Limited.

The thugs then wearing face masks reportedly approached the security guard and grabbed the gun from him and immediately fled with it.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson says, the thugs who stole the gun attempted to use it to rob Emmanuel Kyaligonza of Kagadi town council on Friday night.

The thugs reportedly raided Kyaligonza’s home at around 8:15 p.m. and placed him at gunpoint. They ordered him to surrender all the money that he had in his possession.

Kyaligonza confronted the thugs and reportedly grabbed the gun compelling the thugs to flee the area abandoning the gun.

He says efforts are being made to have the suspects arrested.
