A taxi carrying nine passengers on Sunday plunged into River
Namatala. The accident occurred at Milo five at the border between Mbale and Budaka
district.
The taxi registration number UBH 088D was from Mbale heading
to Kampala with nine occupants along Mbale-Tirinyi road.

Peter Wabyona, who operates a water pump at the river, who survived being
hit by the taxi, says that the accident was also caused by the narrow bridge at
the river.
