Three youths in Jinja
district are in trouble for staging illegal roadblocks. They are Dennis Ngobi,
Michael Katumba and Alex Waiswa.
The trio is locked up
at Budondo police station in Jinja on accusations of staging illegal roadblocks
in Budondo Sub County.
The suspects are said to have been staging illegal road block
armed with machetes and big sticks where they would harass unsuspecting
Ayub Wabiika, the Budondo LC 3 chairperson says he had received
several reports from local leaders over the illegal road blocks.
"LC 1 chairpersons have been calling me to help them
caution the youths against this insensitive act of illegal arrests before the curfew
time as they were breeding insecurity within our area," he said.
Atuhaire, the Officer in charge of Budondo Police Station says the suspects
were picked up from their hideouts in Kibibi trading center ion Tuesday afternoon.
"These three were part of a bigger gang of 15 youths who
had pitched camp in Kibibi trading center," he said. Atuhaire says investigations
are underway, adding that the suspects will be charged with possession of
dangerous weapons in public and impersonation.
