Three people in Dokolo district in Dokolo District have been arrested
for allegedly killing a 38-year-old-businesswoman.
The suspects are Simon Agali, a resident of Apala cell in Agwata, Wasebo Ebong,
a resident of Chawente Sub County in Kwania, and Pasquwelli Ebong, a
resident of Owiny parish in Kwania district. They are alleged to have had a
hand in the murder of Middy Amek, a resident of Acungapenyi cell in Kacung Western
Ward, Dokolo district.
It is alleged that Ebong, who was in a relationship with Amek picked a quarrel
with the deceased.
The deceased who was also a fishmonger was last seen on Thursday evening at Awany landing site in Kacung Eastern ward in Agwata Town Council. However she
went missing and her body was discovered buried just five meters behind her house.
Two knives with bloodstains, one pounding stick and bed
sheets soaked in blood were discovered in her house.
Bosco Ojok, the LCII Chairman of Kacunga Eastern ward says the
trio was arrested on Friday morning by the local leaders and handed over to
police at Dokolo Central Police Station.

Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga Regional Police spokesperson says that the
police has exhumed the body of the deceased and handed it over to relatives for

Records from the North Kyoga police region indicate that 92 murder cases were
reported between January and May this year. In January alone, police registered
20 murder cases, 19 in February, 17 on March, 20 in April and 16 in May.
