According to Nelson Tumushiime, the Rwenzori East police spokesperson, eyewitnesses informed the police that the suspects assaulted Mugisa using sticks and empty beer bottles following a dispute at a local bar in Kitoro cell, Nyamwamba division, Kasese municipality.
Police in Kasese district have detained three suspects on charges of murder. The accused, identified as Brian Musinguzi, Emmanuel Alovis, and Brenda Mbambu, allegedly killed Stephen Mugisa, 18, and left Calvin Kyamirika, 16, severely injured.
According to Nelson Tumushiime, the Rwenzori East police spokesperson, eyewitnesses informed the police that the suspects assaulted Mugisa using sticks and empty beer bottles following a dispute at a local bar in Kitoro cell, Nyamwamba division, Kasese municipality.
Mugisa succumbed to his injuries, while Kyamirika is receiving treatment for severe injuries. Tumushiime added that a case of murder by assault has been officially registered under CRB number 796/2024.

He further stated that investigations are ongoing to uncover more details regarding the incident.
