Three in Mbale Remanded for Trespass

On Tuesday, the three were directed by Mbale city authorities to close a building that belongs to James Wakadala the proprietor of Mbale Resort Hotel alleging that he defaulted to pay this year's ground and property rent.

The Mbale Magistrate Court has remanded three people for allegedly trespassing a business premises on Republic Street near Mbale Central Police Station. 

The suspects are Ibrahim Wasike, Enosi Mayeku, and  Abudala Wugulu attached to Bangoma Company which had been awarded the contract by Mbale City to collect ground property rent.    

On Tuesday, the three were directed by Mbale city authorities to close a building that belongs to James Wakadala the proprietor of Mbale Resort Hotel alleging that he defaulted to pay this year's ground and property rent.

According to Wakadala after his premises were closed, he reported the matter to Mbale Central Police Station, and the three were arrested. 

On Thursday, the suspects appeared before Mbale Grade One Magistrate Morris Oburu Ezra and were remanded to Malukhu Prison until May 24th. 

In the current financial year, Mbale City was estimated to collect 5 billion shillings in local revenue but so far they have collected only 40 percent.
