Anthony Oringa, the LCIII Chairperson, Lakang Sub County says each of the three claimants have appointed their team who move into the community collecting security intelligence but in the process, end up causing chaos.
There`s tension and insecurity among the community and leaders of Lakang Sub County in Amuru following several clashes among different teams appointed by three self-appointed GISOs (Gombolola Internal Security Officers).
Currently three different people are claiming to have been appointed by the district security committee to work as GISO of newly created Lakang Sub County. They are David Omony, the former sub county NRM Party registrar, and others only identified as Odong and Acire.
Anthony Oringa, the LCIII Chairperson, Lakang Sub County says each of the three claimants has appointed their team of operatives who move into the community collecting security intelligence but, in the process, end up causing chaos.
Oringa says there are already several fights as a result of tension between the different GISO masqueraders and their team.
According to Oringa, some of the people are being used to identify and threaten land owners from their which seems to be vast and not in use.
Jamesy Odoch, the LCV Councilor Lakang Sub County says that several people have been harassed and violently attacked the various members of the parish intelligence officers appointed by the GISOs.
Odoch wants the district security committee to establish a clear office and line of duty for only one person saying a sub county can’t have two GISOs.

Joseph Ebalu, the Amuru District Internal Security Officer says no one had been appointed as the GISO of Lakang Sub County. He says the only person they have been coordinating with is David Omony who is not the substantive GISO of the Sub County.
Augustine Modo, the Amuru Deputy Resident District Commissioner Amuru says an inquiry will be launched to ascertain the masqueraders and have them arrested.
