The accident occurred after a Toyota Harrier Registration Number UAZ.264S destined for Kampala from Gulu collided with a Toyota Mahindra registration number UBE153L destined for Nakasongal from Kampala.
people were killed on the spot and three others injured seriously following an
accident in Nakasongola district on Sunday evening. The accident
occurred around 7.30 pm at Kyankonwa village in Kakooge Sub-County about 90
kilometers into Nakasongola along the Kampala-Gulu highway.

Police have identified the dead as Manpreet Singh,
39 and Surrinder Pal Singh, 37, both Indian nationals and residents of
Nakasongola and Aziz Onach, 38, also a
resident of Katuugo in the same district. Onach
was the driver of Toyota Mahindra, which transporting the Indians to Nile Fiber
Board Company at Kinoni in Nakasongola.
Police have also identified the injured as one
Ganeshi, 42, also an Indian National and a resident of Nakasongola, Odyeke
Christopher, 27 and Tonny Ogwal Tonny, the driver of the Toyota Harrier. The injured
are nursing injuries at Nakasongola Health Centre IV.
bodies are also lying in the mortuary at the same facility-pending postmortem.
Police were yet to establish the cause of the accident by the time of filing
this story. Isah Ssemwogerere, the Savannah Regional Police spokesperson told
URN that investigations were still ongoing.
Ssekate, the LC I Chairperson of Kasambya village, which shares
borders with Kyankonwa village where the
accident took place, says that by the time they arrived at the scene on a
rescue mission, three people were already dead.
