The Police
in Entebbe has arrested two people for allegedly killing a 3-year-old boy in
Katabi Town Council.
The body of Simon Onyait was found in one of the rooms of an unfinished
building in Nalugala Mawugulu Zone, Wakiso District. The unfinished
building was being occupied by one of the suspects only identified as
Kasawuli. Police also arrested the boy's
stepfather, Francis Onyango.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Area Deputy Spokesperson,
Onyait's mother Anna Kevin Akello informed the police that her son went missing
around 6 pm on Wednesday.
Akello says this was after she returned from work and did not find the
Onyait at home.
According to Owoyesigyire, Akello and other residents found Onyait’s body in
the unfinished building. The body had two stab wounds and Kasawuli's clothes were
recovered with blood stains.
He says the two suspects are helping the police in the investigations.
Some of the residents led by Lawrence Muliika,
the area councilor, and Shaban Mubiru say cases of insecurity are on the
increase in Katabi Town Council.
They want security personnel to increase surveillance and night patrols in the
area.
On Tuesday, another resident of Katabi Town Council, Fred Golooba, was killed
by unknown people.
