Police in Kampala are probing circumstances under which a
woman and her daughter were electrocuted on Saturday morning.
Deputy Kampala Metropolitan police spokesman, Luke
Owoyesigyire, identified the victims as Agnes Naiga and her daughter, Lillian
Naiga and Nakogogwe were electrocuted while placing clothes
on a wire to dry. They were residents of Sembule zone in Rubaga Division Kampala.
"It is alleged that , while Naiga was hanging clothes
during the early morning down pour , her hanging lines were in touch with live
wires transmitting electricity and she was electrocuted, it's from there
that Lilian tried to save her and she too was electrocuted, “Owoyesigyire said.
Police picked the bodies and took them to city mortuary for
postmortem, investigations are ongoing to ascertain the cause of the
