Eric Mukale, a private security guard who was guarding Natif’s home and was also injured in the botched robbery told our reporter on Thursday afternoon that he didn’t sense any danger when he opened the gate for his boss last night.
Two unidentified machete-wielding thugs were
gunned down last night in a botched robbery in Kulambiro in Nakawa division in
The deceased together with other still at large reportedly surrounded
the residence of Nicholas Natif in Kulambiro armed with machetes, stones
and housebreaking implements around 9pm with intentions of robbing his family.
According to available information, when Natif failed to raise
the money the thugs demanded, they bundled him in
his vehicle Harrier registration number UBD 239A and tried to drive off.
However, they were intercepted by officers from Tuba police post on a tip off by Natif’s wife.
The robbers attempted to knockdown police
officers prompting them to open fire, which killed two thugs on spot. Four others
fled for dear life.
Natif was also injured in the shooting and was rushed to Nakasero hospital by his family members
where he is nursing wounds.
