Two players of Mvara Boys Football Club in Arua City have died in a nasty accident along Nebbi-Pakwach road.

The two were traveling on Thursday afternoon together with their teammates for a match with Pakwach FC in Pakwach town aboard a Coaster belonging to Emmanuel Cathedral Mvara.

Preliminary reports show that the accident occurred around 12 Noon in Aluyi after the coaster lost control and overturned resulting from brake failure.

One of the deceased has only been identified as Chalia, the former Gombolola internal Security officer-GISO for the former Arua Hill Division.

Reports also indicate that several players escaped with injuries and were rushed to the nearby health center in Nyaravur.

Josephine Angucia, the West Nile Region Police Spokesperson confirmed the accident, saying she was yet to receive details.

“I have just seen the news on our platform. Let me get details first,” Angucia told URN.

The accident comes barely a week after six members of the family who had escorted their visitor to board a bus were crashed by a drone at Panyimur junction along Nebbi-Pakwach road.
