Two players of Mvara Boys
Football Club in Arua City have died in a nasty accident along Nebbi-Pakwach road.
The two were traveling on Thursday afternoon together
with their teammates for a match with Pakwach FC in Pakwach town aboard a Coaster belonging
to Emmanuel Cathedral Mvara.
Preliminary
reports show that the
accident occurred around 12 Noon in Aluyi after the coaster lost control and overturned resulting from brake
failure.
One of the deceased
has only been identified as Chalia, the former Gombolola internal Security officer-GISO
for the former Arua Hill Division.
Reports
also indicate that several players
escaped with injuries and were rushed to the nearby health center in Nyaravur.
Josephine Angucia,
the West Nile Region Police Spokesperson confirmed the accident, saying she was yet to receive details.
“I
have just seen the news on our platform. Let me get details first,” Angucia told URN.
The accident comes barely
a week after six
members of the
family who had escorted their visitor to board a bus were crashed by a drone at
Panyimur junction along
Nebbi-Pakwach
road.
