The U-20 women National Football team coach Ayubu Khalifa Kiyingi
has tasked his team to improve their performance in their next game against
Djibouti in the going CECAFA U-20 women championship at FUFA Technical Center
Uganda defeated Burundi 5-1 in their opening match, but despite an incredible
start, the coach believes his girls didn’t perform to the expectations.
According to Kiyingi, the game was not moving at the pace he wanted.
He added that he will make some changes in the next game to suit his style of

Uganda’s goals were scored by Captain Fauzia Najjemba who netted
twice, Margret Kunihira while Hadijja Nandago and Shamira Nalugya added one
each. Burundi got their consolation goal through Pascicie Butoyi.
In other games played on Saturday, Ethiopia beat Djibouti 7-0,
while Tanzania also started the tournament with a narrow victory 1-0 over
Eritrea. The tournament which is hosted by Uganda attracted only six countries
from the East and Central Africa region.
Action will resume tomorrow on Monday for matchday two where
Uganda will be locking horns with Djibouti in the first game that will be
played in the morning, Eritrea will take on Ethiopia while Tanzania Burundi.
Kiyingi said they have tried to rectify some of the mistakes he
identified in their game against Burundi and he expects a better performance in
their next clash.

According to the organizers of the championship, it will be played
in a round-robin format and the team with the most points after Matchday five
will be declared Champions.
