UCU lady cardinals have defeated the She-corporates Women Football Club 1-0 in their first FUFA women Super league-FWSL game played at the Njeru based FUFA technical center.

Shadia Nankya scored the lonely goal in the 5th minute of the game giving her side an early lead, which they managed to sustain throughout the playing time.

Speaking to journalists after the game, UCU’s goalkeeper, Ruth Aciiro says that their counterparts were equally aggressive and ably reached out for balls in the midfield and forward areas.

She, however, says that they managed to capitalize on a few of the weaknesses in their defensive line to earn the victory.

UCU Assistant coach, Simon Asiimwe says despite walking away with the victory, they struggled to contain the game since most of the girls were playing on the artificial turf stadium for the first time.

She-corporate’s head coach, Ali Zimba says that both teams played competitive football. He says that his girls played their best and endeavoured to advance towards their opponents’ half throughout the second round but they were not lucky enough to win the game.
