The Uganda Volleyball giants Nemostars have failed to qualify for the semi-finals at the ongoing African Club Volleyball Championship. The Nemostars were defeated on Friday by Libyan Club Swehly 3-0 in Tunisia.

Nemostars required a win to advance to the semi-finals. Uganda had a good start in the first technical minutes however Swehly surpassed them closing the set 25-19 and struggled in the second set ending 25-14.

Set three ended 25-19, although Nemostars gained some confidence in the first technical times of the last set, the Libyan side never gave them a chance. Swehly won all sets.

Nemostars will now shift the fight for the 5th to 8th position in the championship. Reaching the quarter-finals, Nemostars beat Ethiopia’s Wolaita in the last group game and finished in second place with five points behind Tunisia’s Kelibia.

The club has however had several financial constraints and also travelled to Tunisia without a coach however they were relieved after Lakhani Auto Centre gave them 1,000 USD.
