Cranes, Uganda’s Beach soccer team has fallen to Mozambique 6-3 in the
Semifinals of the ongoing Afcon Beach Soccer at Saly Beach Soccer
stadium in Senegal.
Three goals from Baker Lukoya, Alex Wasswa
and Paul were not enough to stop Mozambique that came from behind to stop from qualifying
for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup slated for Russia this year.

Muwonge said his team had hopes of qualifying for the World Cup. He says that
they have now turned their focus onto the third position of the Beach Soccer
Afcon, where they will battle Morocco.

The Uganda Sand Cranes qualified for the Beach Soccer finals automatically when
Ghana withdrew from the tournament. This is the first time Uganda is playing in
the finals of the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations.
