The team will host Western African side Ghana on 22nd January 2021 at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende in the first leg of the fourth round of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.
The Uganda
U-20 women coach Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi has said that his team is well prepared
to face Ghana. This follows two weeks of intense preparations at MTN Omondi
stadium in Lugogo.
The team will host Western African side Ghana on 22nd January 2021 at St.
Mary’s Stadium, Kitende in the first leg of the fourth round of the FIFA U20
Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.
The team entered a residential camp on January 4 at Cranes Paradise Hotel in
Kisaasi, and they have since kicked off preparations for their forthcoming
world cup qualifiers tie against Ghana.
Kiyingi revealed that his side is all ready for the challenge. He said the team
has improved in goal scoring and every player is in good shape with no injuries
so far.

Although Ghana has more experience than Uganda, having participated in the
tournament five times, coach Kiyingi says this will not stop his side from
registering a win against them.

Uganda will be hoping to eliminate Ghana as they look forward to reaching
the final round of the qualifiers. To reach the fourth round, Uganda eliminated
Giants South Africa on an aggregate of 1-0 in the first leg at St Mary’s
Stadium in Kitende before the two teams played a goalless draw in the return
leg to help Uganda qualify.
The qualifiers that started last August with 40 teams are now in the fourth
round with 8 teams.
According to
the qualifiers’ setting, the best two teams will book tickets to represent
Africa in the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup
