A Rice huller in Busia district has remained non-functional four years after it was installed.

The 787 Million Shillings huller was donated by President Yoweri Museveni in 2014 to support and improve the quality of rice production.

Joseph Erima Mulim, the LCIII Chairman Buyanga Sub-county says that the huller was installed in 2017 but has remained idle due to lack of power.

According to Erima, the farmers lack funds to neither purchase a generator nor connect a three-phased transformer.
