Unknown Assailants Strangle Kagadi Woman to Death

Benard Kanabulenge, the Kambaba Cell LC I Chairperson, says the deceased was last seen in Kabamba trading center at around 10 pm in a bar with her colleagues in good health. She later left the bar saying that she was heading home.

Unknown assailants have strangled to death a woman in Kagadi district. The deceased is  42-year-old  Allen Owimaana, a peasant and resident of Kabamba village in Kabamba parish.

Owimaana met her death at the hands of the assailants around 11p.m on Sunday night. The assailants dumped the deceased's lifeless body in a maize garden near her home in the same village.

Benard Kanabulenge, the Kambaba Cell LC I Chairperson, says the deceased was last seen in Kabamba trading center at around 10 pm in a bar with her colleagues in good health. She later left the bar saying that she was heading home.

According to Kanabulenge, the assailants could have waylaid the deceased as she was returning home from Kabamba trading center. He says that residents discovered  Owimaana's lifeless body lying in in the maize garden on Monday morning.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, says that investigations have commenced establishing circumstances surrounding the deceased's death. He explains that the deceased had bruises around her neck.
