Unknown Man Crashes Police Motorcycle in Nabilatuk

Authorities in Nabilatuk district are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding an accident in which an unknown man crashed a police motorcycle along the Lorengedwat - Amudat road. According to reports, on August 16, 2023, at approximately 6:00 pm, the Lorengedwat police received a distress call from a concerned member of the public regarding an accident involving a police motorcycle with the registration number UP 8149. 

The incident took place near Lorengedwat Primary School along the Lorengedwat-Amuda Road in Nabilatuk District. Michael Longole, the Mt. Moroto regional police spokesperson told URN police officers promptly responded to the call and discovered an unconscious adult male, approximately 35 years old, lying on the road alongside the police motorcycle.

According to Longole, the victim was swiftly transported to Lorengedwat Health Centre III for immediate medical attention. Subsequently, the victim was transferred to Moroto Regional Referral Hospital utilizing a Police Ambulance. 

Longole added that although the specific police unit to which the motorcycle belongs remains unidentified, the motorcycle has been temporarily parked at Lorengedwat Police Station pending inspection by the Inspectorate of Vehicles (IOV). The ongoing investigation aims to ascertain the identity of the victim and determine the cause of the accident.
