URA FC, AL Masyr Clash in CAF Confederations Cup Tough Hurdle in Kitende

Uganda’s representatives in CAF Confederation Cup URA FC are hosting Egypt based side Al Masyr in the first leg of the 2021/22 CAF Confederation Cup Qualifiers at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende. 

This is the second preliminary round of the qualifiers; the winner will qualify to the playoff round. The match at Kitende promises to be a tough contest since the two teams managed to advance in the first preliminary round. 

URA FC sailed past Ethiopian outfits Coffee FC in the first preliminary round with a 5-2 aggregate that helped the to storm the second round of the preliminary round.  The tax collectors will have to build from that triumph if they are to stop Al Masyr.

URA FC are continuing with their hunt for first ever appearance in the group stages of the continental club championship since their last appearance in 2015. To represent Uganda in this edition, URA FC was selected by FUFA after ending the local prematurely and URA finished second. 

URA FC Head coach Sam Timbe said he believes all his plyers are ready to represent the tax collectors.

The tactician added on that they will have to score as many goals as possible if they are defeat their opponents. “We need to score goals because that is how we will win the game. The best way of defending is by attacking”. Timbe said.

URA FC striker Cromwell Rwothomio said his side will have to score more goals to secure the first leg advantage, he believes he will give all his best to help his club to penetrate through to the next round.

"To win games a team must score goals and as a striker, it's my responsibility to win games for the club, I scored in my previous game against Ethiopian Coffee and hopefully, I can score again on Saturday God willing" Cromwell noted.
