Traders and transporters along the Uganda-DRC border are beginning to feel the financial pinch of war in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Heavy Fighting is reported in Masisi, the main regional town located 120 kilometers from the Uganda border. Business and traffic has remained visibly low at the Bunagana and Ishasha border posts in Kisoro and Kanungu districts. Several traders and drivers say they have been forced to postpone travel into the eastern DRC, for fear of being caught in the fight between the dissident Congolese army led by General Laurent Nkunda and the government forces. Several trucks have been packed at Ishasha border. The Western Uganda Army Spokesperson, Kiconco Tabaro, says a contingency plan has been put in place to control the Border. //Cue in: basically for us# Cue out: # officials in Uganda.// On Thursday, Laurent Nkunda's soldiers attacked an army post, in North -Kivu province killed an undisclosed number and wounded 30 people at Katale, about 9kms south of Masisi town.
