A severe water crisis has hit two divisions in Lira City because of ongoing works at Kacung water treatment plant. The two divisions have not had water supply for the last one week.

Currently, residents have turned to stream and boreholes for water for domestic use.  Geoffrey Obonyo is the proprietor of Triple restaurant along Olwol road.

He says that the water shortage has forced the water price to increase from between Shillings 200 to between Shillings 1000 to 500 per 20 liter jerrycan.

He says that he can barely afford the Shillings 1,000 price for a 20-liter jerrican of water.
