In his statement, Dholimala accused Magumba of orchestrating the plan to sell the gun. "Magumba is the one who initiated this deal after telling me that, his counterparts in security had directed him to selloff this old gun on their behalf," he said.

Dholimala, a renowned witch doctor in Bugiri district is in trouble for
attempting to sell a firearm. Dholimala was picked up together with his brother
in law, Hakim Magumba by police in conjunction with operatives from the Chieftaincy
of Military Intelligence-CMI while trying to sell an AK-47 gun at Shillings 7 million.
The gun had 28
rounds of live ammunition. Magumba is
said to have stolen the gun from Iganga Central Police Station on March 5th,
2020. He reportedly passed on the gun to Dholimala who decided to keep it in
his shrine Kagali village in Kapyanga Sub County as they hunt for a buyer at
Shillings 10 million in vain.
Upon receiving intelligence on the firearm, security
operatives set a trap for the suspects and offered to buy the gun at Shillings
7 million, an offer that was agreeable to Dholimala. He preferred to meet the
prospective buyers at his shrine where he was subsequently arrested.

The Busoga East police spokesperson, James Mubi confirmed
the incident saying the suspects are currently locked up at Bugiri central
police station pending the conclusion of their investigations.
