The elections of youth male and female youth councillors in Mityana District have been cancelled after one of the candidates was missing on the ballot paper.

This follows a complaint raised by Grace Nakigudde one of the female candidates who said that despite being nominated, her name was missing on the ballot paper. The other candidates include Sauda Kitone Nakazibwe of the NRM and Carol Nakasolya of the National Unity Platform (NUP).

On realizing that her name was missing, Nakigudde immediately rushed to the Electoral Commission headquarters in Kampala where she submitted her complaint and the exercise was immediately stopped at past 2:00 pm.

Nakazibwe, the NRM party candidate says that she is disappointed with the decision of the Electoral Commission. She explains that she spent more than 40 million shillings to transport, feed and accommodate the delegates.
